Vinyl Control - 2007/04/19 05:45
So, sure, controllers like teh hercules (sp) are kewl. But, it hasn't escaped my notice that there's now an open source timecode thingy (I guess its software). Which, of course, means I can use my turntables (since I don't have CD decks) along with the coded vinyl to control software based digital playback. So, where is the software?! I mean Mixxx looks sweet, but does it have this control? I don't want to use controllers, I want to use my turntables plugged into an audio in (low latency soundcard, of course) and be all hibbity-jibbity, which I guess means mix. Basically I'm looking for linux software to let me do what MixVibes DVS does.

Vinyl control support for Mixxx is currently in the works. It's in decent shape so far, but it still needs some work. I'm shooting to have it reasonably usable by June, so hopefully we'll see Mixxx with vinyl control support soon.
