Terratec 5.1 USB && Linux - 2006/08/04 02:09

i tried to use MiXXX with a terratec 5.1 usb linux but i don't success.

I got sound with alsa and xmms ( but not with mixxx : audio device could not be opened )
I got two sound card on my computer.

With Jack, i got any sound with xmms and mixxx. I tried different sample rate ( 44100 and 48000 )
and different options.

I put the asoundrc ( of the preccedent post ) in my home repertory.

Any got an idea?

ok the solution is a big buffer and a big latency with a simple kernel

You probably will have a best performance with a kernel recompiled with low latency and preempt. This can improve the sound in a good manner.

I can't see a good reason for using the Alsa backend instead Jack. Jack is definitely better. To achieve good results you should play with buffer number and buffer size. Try Qjacktctl to do that.
