Hello,

I'm looking for software to play musics and sounds under linux. The aim is to be able to play one track and then start another, but also to be able to play short sounds with shortcut keys, a bit like in a theater play sonorization.

I have seen Mixxx software which seems appropriate for newbies and takes care of the first requirement (mix two long tracks), but how about playing short sequences of sounds by pressing keyboard keys?

There are some projects to loop and play samples (sooperlooper, freewheeling, lmms, hydrogen etc..), but I suppose you need just a sampler. You can try PKsampler:
