Any Useable Software At All? - 2007/08/06 22:54

I've tried DJplay and it was pretty much a useless, half-finished, undocumented, attempt at a DJ desktop. Looked nice, but that's about it. Too buggy to use in a live situation.

Tried UltraMixer, and it wasn't any better than DJplay. Tried it under Linux and Windows, but both had their own problems that made it completely useless. Looked nice on the screen (just like DJplay), but also, just too buggy to use in a live situation.

Now I see everyone hyping on Mixxx, but I see a lot of holes in that one too. That is, unless, they just didn't make something obvious to me...Like, the automatic cross fade. Has anybody ever got that to work in Mixxx? If so, please tell me how...If not, please tell me the name of any other DJ software for Linux that actually works.

I think there is something similar going on in the svn branch of Mixxx.

Ok. I know that there are some issues in this software category in this moment. But Mixxx is probably the most promising project, thinking also to usability. Just trust it and have some faith!
