Hi guys, I see a lot of people asking about vinyl control software, and I've released some DJ software which the OpenJay community might be interested in. It's called 'xwax' and is for vinyl DJing on Linux (currently using the Scratch Live vinyls).

I've made a release in x86 binary to begin with, to see if there's any interest in the project. If there is then I'd like to get the source out soon. I developed it over a year ago for myself and some DJ friends, and so it would be great to develop it with a wider audience.

I figured this would be better as a 'news' item, but I've registered and don't seem to be able to submit it as one. Maybe if it qualifies, it could go on the openjay.org page?

I noticed you are true: user privileges do not admit content submission.
I corrected this problem. Could you try again? (I'll put also an image of your program)

I am new to the game and i am about to test ubuntu on one of my laptops. Will this program work with ubuntu?

Yes, it will. Lots of xwax users are using Ubuntu.

Give it a try, and subscribe to the xwax mailing list too. Then you are in the right forum to ask or answer questions. The people on there are a nice bunch, and I'm sure they'll help you out if you have any problems.
